How do I meet safely?
Take a few simple steps before and during a meeting. Stay in control, keep your personal data private, and leave if you do not feel comfortable.
How it works
Safety comes from small habits. They are the same for everyone, whatever the listing.
Before the meeting
- Talk first. Check that the person answers normally and that the details match the listing.
- Agree on the place, the time and the terms clearly, and respect the other person's limits.
- Do not send a deposit or an advance payment (see Should I send a deposit or an advance payment?).
- Tell someone you trust where you are going.
- Keep your personal data private: no bank details, no codes, no documents.
During the meeting
- Choose a place where you feel safe.
- Stay sober enough to decide for yourself.
- You can leave at any time if something feels wrong.
After
- If something went wrong, report the listing with the "Report" button on the listing page (see How do I report a fake profile?).
- In an emergency, contact the emergency services of your country.
